Monday 28th (Linda and Lizz) This is for Rob W.....
We have created a blog site so we can communicate about geo.and social studies. We have sent you an invitation to join the blog, so make sure you do, and communicate regularly with your esteemed colleagues at Clearlinks! In the email click on the link to join the blog. At first it looks like it is asking for a password - BUT click on the "make a google account" link and this will let you make your own login and password to the blogspot.
We have also talked about a collabrative wiki project for our junior classes next year, but will need to discuss this at the next PD day. We have looked some online projects today and it is definatly viable.
We missed you :) L&L
Friday 25th (Rob W)
I won't be able to be there on Monday as I am away with Year 13s at Muriwai. I'm keen to know how you get on and to offer help wlere i cann
Wednesday 23rd (Rosie)
Have logins and passwords for www and an IT Technician will be @ E15 and E17 @ 9am on both days - 28th and 31st to help you if there are any access issues.
Morning tea will be provided but either bring lunch, cafes abound in Mt Eden or there is the staff cafeteria right next door in A block. Wednesday 23rd (Linda)
Hi Lizz and Chris (Aorere). It will be good to catch up on Monday and share ideas. Liz, what are your thoughts on doing some brainstorming of ideas for 2.3, and then sharing strategies and ideas on what has worked so far in both geo. and social studies?
Sunday 20th (Rob W)
Sorry it has taken me some time to log on as we have had exams and marking to do so apologies to all. I don't have a problem working at Epsom as long as everyone else is fine with it, but equally I don't have a problem with travelling to one of the other schools. I was thinking that since we are all Geo teachers we could look at one of the senior topics and working on this (something like disparities possibly as there is potential to make that interesting and ICT/thinking skills rich) but any number of topics could be used. Just a thought but I'm open for discussion. Oops I have just realised that I have problems with Monday 28th as my Year 13s are out doing assessment at Muriwai and I really have to be with them for purposes of autheniticity and validity, i will need to email Rosemary and discuss it with her.
Thursday 17th (Rosemary)
I agree Linda! I will put an e-mail around again. Have requested login and passwords for your computers on campus. Thursday 17th (Linda)
Rosemary, thanks for organising the rooms. This seems a good idea to me. It would be good to hear what other people think but no-one seems to be using this to get things organised! Lizz and Rob W, do you like the idea of working at Epsom Campus and what would you like to spend the day doing in terms of Social Sciences? I know we are all busy but we need to make the day worthwhile.
Thursday 17th (Rosemary)
I am able to get www access, wireless or cable (we have a hub in one of the rooms) so all I need to know is which groups want to come into the Campus. As I said I have booked two rooms for the 28th so please let me know so I can lett ITservices know. Thanks, R
Tues 15/5 (from Rosemary)
I have booked two rooms @ the Faculty of Education in Epsom Ave (Gate 3, Parking in Gate 2) Monday 28th May - one for Social Sciences and one for English. They are very close together E15 and E17. You dont have to use these but following up on Linda's comments it could be a good idea to have a neutral environment. I have also booked the same two rooms for Thursday 31st for Maths and Science. There are only two teachers in Maths, Priscilla (Glendowie) and Mary (SH) They may prefer to work in one of the schools but I booked the rooms in case they would like to come there. Cherise and Aaron can either work with another Faculty of their choice or they can work with a Facilitator, or whatever! Vicki and Angela - I had you both on separate days so you could work with the curriculum areas but if you like I could put you both on Thursday so you can work together, and at the same time be available to support curriculum areas. Angela - I spoke to Mike and he would prefer you both are on Thursday as that makes fewer staff out on that day.
Laptops - bring your laptops. I am going to talk to our technician about getting you logins for the day and will get back to you about this. Certainly there will be www available.
It is up to you to decide what your Agenda is. Add ideas and join in the discussion.
I would also appreciate it if you would go into the Reflective Journals link and start doing some reflective comments as this is a Ministry requirement for Milestone 6, due 8 June.
Comments please on venue, timing etc.
15 May - Absolutely Linda, great idea. I have e-mailed the PA to see what is available. R
14/5
Rosemary, is there any chance of getting a room at Team Solutions Epsom Campus? Neutral environment and away from schools? Linda
